HISTORY:
A passionate encounter with this charming restored gracious old
lady. Led to a spontaneous purchase 6 years ago, the home is
sandstone with the zinc roof which allows a symphony of raindrops to patter
and delight during summer storms. The original window frames and wooden
floors and trimmings are still intact and beautifully restored. A
delightful and nostalgic revisit with a funky twist of a featured room to
suit the theme. The home was purchased by the current owner, a swallow
resident who visits occasionally and always finds it so difficult to leave
this peaceful haven, in 2002. Much loving restoration took place and
additional ablutions were added with quirky humour and 3 burnt out drills
trying to go through the sandstone blocks. A pretty pond was created as
well as a braai. The essential fireplace was reopened and made functional.
Birds are encouraged at all time.
POSITION:
Situated at 113 Percy Street.
Coming in from Carolina carry on straight over the main tar road, two down
and turn right at the T-Junction. Admire the lake on the left. Home 2nd on
the right. Just Country.
ACCOMMODATION:
Being of Scottish extraction and formerly a Macleod the owner was taken by
the misty and melancholy appeal of the area but took a decision to enliven
the accommodation to remove it from sombre to joy.

revisiting of lives prior to the techno age, you will surprise yourselves
at the great value conversation and laughter bring. The village has
numerous eco orientated days and one needs to be on Chrissies mailing list
for these, stargazing , wildflower id , bird watching, padda catching, and
just being aware of the seasons changing. Sunsets are a highlight of the
day.

distance of all the main centres.
There is no time like the present, this time IS the present.
